Annie Bien received her first writing commission from the Soho Theatre Company, London, England. She has published poetry and short fiction in magazines and anthologies, and has been shortlisted in competitions. An aspiring translator of Tibetan Buddhist texts and an editor for the American Institute of Buddhist Studies at Columbia University/Tibet House Publications, she recently wrote a Sanskrit-style kavya, “Threading the Word Garland as a Rosary,” for Tibetan Society, Culture, and Politics, India: Sage India.
